Ko ‘ai mātou?

Who are we? The Association was started by some of the Cook Islands’ foremost academics and ta‘unga when they met in 2007 at the University of South Pacific campus in Rarotonga. In 2020, a new Committee was chosen to support the development of the organisation. Find out more about the history of the organisation and your new Committee.

Tā mātou ‘anga‘anga

What is the Association for? What part do you play in its work? The Association started as a way to bring together people interested in research about and for the Cook Islands. It welcomes all those who are asking questions about our past, our present and our future. Here you can find more about the journey the Association is on and how you can help it navigate forward.

Nā tātou katoatoa

Te Vairanga Kite Pakari is for all of us. Whether you are an academic, one of our ta‘unga, a student or an interested researcher coming to work on the Cook Islands for the first time. Our aim is to support researchers coming together to share, discuss and collaborate. Find out about our upcoming conferences, publications and more.
